10th C1 writing-Write 5 paragraphs using the beginnings of sentences in UNIT 7.1 Exercise 5A on page 81


1.-Something I have always wanted to do is a travel around the world, and I bet that I will do it in a future. I love travelling, seeing new places and meeting new people, whatever the country I would visit or the cultures I will meet.
2.-The reason why I enjoy reading so much is because I usually feel inside the story while I am reading, obviously whether the book interest me. And this is also the reason why I prefer reading in summer, when I have a little bit more of time to do it in a particular way; in my yard, under a big umbrella and without anybody interrupting me to get into the story and being part of the plot.
3.-The place I would most like to visit is Argentina, especially for its landscapes and natural places, but probably I will not do it until I am retired. Now I only have the opportunity to have holidays in July or August and in that time in Argentina is winter season.
4.-What I enjoy most about living where I do is that I feel totally at home in my town. I was born there 48 years ago, and I know all the streets, squares and places around me. It is a really quiet place to live, very near Barcelona if I need a bit of stressful life and a few minutes of mountains and beach where I can go If I want to switch off.
5.-One thing I would like to change is my strong character, because I know that I am, sometimes, a bit hard, sharp and difficult to treat for other people and I say things in a very direct way. I do not like be economical with the truth, and there are some people around me that do not like to hear something so directly…

9th C1 writing - Summary about Tatianna, a Slovakian student

After listening to Tatianna, take notes on what she says and write them up in 175 words

Tatianna started her first year studying law in Slovakia. She has continued studying it at Bedfordshire University since 2005. She has finished it now and will start her legal practice in London.
She found the course well structured because it had a range of practical activities, in addition to the usual academic matter. As an example she referred lectures, seminars and extra-curricular options, like practices in defending or arguing in a real case or in advising real clients. She can find all relevant information that she need on the University system.
She will stay in wherever Commonwealth country principally because the legal system in her country is totally different. If she wants to work in Slovakia, she will need to qualify again.
Tatianna worked in England for a year before she went to study, so there were no surprises at University. Classes are prepared for international people, and there are lots of Slovakian students., so she felt at home.
The University is conveniently located in the centre of town, and there are different activities to help students socialise each other.
