Sonia’s grandmother, Manuela, had been a woman with a strong character since she was widowed, at a very young age. One year after her younger daughter's departure, Manuela had started to share her working time with some classes, to improve her situation. Her economy had forced her to work so much, and she had always been conscious about the importance of knowledge and studies for the chance of a better future.
The surprising arrival of her granddaughter Sonia made her remember all her harsh difficulties, and she was totally determined to help Sonia. From then on, Manuela has started teaching her granddaughter how to organise her time, and in the meantime she was also teaching Sonia how to share the time for studying with her training at home chores, which Manuela also considered as an experience for life. “Sonia, you need to be clever, self-sufficient and independent to have the better opportunities to be free”
